Formica Gialla is such a pretty wine that it almost doesn’t feel like an orange wine. This is probably due to the fact that it has not been aged in oak barrels. Fiberglass instead allows the wine to keep its fruity aromas, gentle tannins and a salty edge.

From a historic country house located in Velletri, 40 km south of Rome, the small Colle Formica winery was born in 2018, from a family that for more than 100 years has worked these almost 3 hectares of land in a sustainable and loving way. Just over 1.5 hectares of vineyards in Malvasia and Trebbiano, with vineyards over 40 years old. For the red and rosé wine, the grapes (Sangiovese) come from a nearby vineyard plot. The vineyards are located about 200 meters above sea level with a very rich volcanic soil with clay components.

Colle Formica produces its wines without the use of herbicides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers. In the winery, it is vinified only with native yeasts, without temperature control and trying to add only the minimum possible sulfur. The phases of the moon are followed for decanting and bottling.
